¶ 01 Question to the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government:

¶ 02 Common Lands Allotted in Sale of Private Lands: Minuwangoda Pradeshiya Sabha Area (Q. 849/2025)

¶ 03 (a) Is he aware that: (i) when a private land is subdivided and sold, a certain portion must be handed over to the Pradeshiya Sabha as common land; (ii) the Pradeshiya Sabha must allocate such land for residents’ common needs; and (iii) such common lands cannot, under any circumstances, be allocated for private use?

¶ 04 (b) Will he inform this House: (i) the number of common lands owned by the Minuwangoda Pradeshiya Sabha and the extent of each, separately; (ii) whether common lands owned by the Minuwangoda Pradeshiya Sabha are currently being used for private purposes by some individuals; (iii) whether he will present a list of such individuals; (iv) what legal action has been taken against them; (v) whether a brother of a local politician has made unauthorized constructions and reclamations on the common land belonging to the “Amba Sevana Watta” estate in the Nilpanagoda GND; and (vi) if so, whether legal action has been taken against him?
