¶ 01 On behalf of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, I answer:

¶ 02 (a) (i) Farms owned at present: - Department of Agriculture: 29 farms - Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka: 17 farms (in addition, certain livestock activities are managed under affiliated entities) - National Livestock Development Board (NLDB): 32 farms

¶ 03 (ii) Names and addresses: - Department of Agriculture farms (29): Listed in Annex 1 - Mahaweli Authority farms (17): Listed in Annex 2, including farm name, Mahaweli zone, primary function and extent - NLDB farms (32): Listed in Annex 3, with locations such as Andigama, Belligama, Bopaththalawa, Dayagama, Galpokuna, Horakelle, Haragama, Karandagolla, Kottukachchiya, Kowulwewa, Mahaberiya-thenna, Maradavila, Marawila, Martin, Mawatta (Lunuwila), Melsiripura, Medarata Livestock Development Centre (Diganawila), Mirissawatte (Horana), Manikpalama (Bopaththalawa), Narangalla (Kitulawa), Nikaweratiya, Oyamaduwa (Nikaweratiya), Parasangahawewa, Polonthalawa (Kadigawa, Nikaweratiya), Polonnaruwa, Rosita (Kotagala), Ridiyagama (Ambalantota), Rukkattana (Bingiriya), Siringapathana (Badalgama), Welisara, Weerawila (Tissamaharama), Wellikanda.

¶ 04 (iii) The detailed, year-wise profit/loss data from 2015 for each farm are provided in Annexes 1–3. The Annexes have been placed in the Library.

¶ 05 (iv) There is no specific agreement regarding privatization of these farms. The policy is to improve and develop them. Where appropriate, the Government may consider engaging domestic investors and stakeholders under Government oversight to enhance productivity; no decision has been taken to hand them over to foreign companies.
