¶ 01 Mr. Speaker, I myself raised these points yesterday. I have information regarding how Hon. Namal Rajapaksa sat for Law College exams—written communications were sent to me. The complainant says he will come to Sri Lanka and begin the necessary processes. After I clarified this, I can further state that in 2010, when he sat the final-year Law College exam, he wrote in a separate room after being introduced by the Principal—this is widely known among lawyers who also sat the exams. It is also known he sat a computer-room exam. The complainant that year, Mr. Tushara Jayaratne, sat the same final exams and has lodged complaints, asking that investigations begin. Once they proceed, it can be determined how he wrote, and under what arrangements.

¶ 02 As to the professor, after Hon. Namal Rajapaksa applied for a postgraduate program in Criminology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the application was rejected. Two professors were on that panel. One has since passed away; the other is the one in question. I clearly stated it was the Vice Chancellor who issued the threat, not Hon. Namal Rajapaksa. This process has been discussed previously in Parliament. We are also calling for investigations. Complainants will come forward to give evidence; Hon. Namal Rajapaksa can also give evidence.
