¶ 01 Hon. Deputy Chairperson of Committees, this is not hearsay. Why did you go to the Kingsbury Hotel to meet officials of YG Holdings? You went to the Kingsbury Hotel. Check the CCTV footage. The people gave this Government a mandate to end fraud and corruption. I say this responsibly.

¶ 02 Previously, Payagala Distilleries had a bottling plant. A then Minister sold that plant. It was a massive fraud. You went to Kingsbury to reenact that same example. Hon. Deputy Chairperson of Committees, why did they go to the Kingsbury Hotel?

¶ 03 The people placed their trust in this Government. Even now, we too wish only that this Government eradicates fraud and corruption. But on one hand, they said a bar permit was given as a bribe; there is no action. On another hand, Ministers go to strike deals; there is no action. However, I appreciate the move to reduce the grace period granted to ethanol distributors and producers and distilleries from six months to one month, and to take action if they fail to pay. I genuinely wish the Government well on that.

¶ 04 But also take action against these corrupt actions of Ministers. For everything else you say you go to the CID. If the ruling party can, go and check the CCTV at the Kingsbury Hotel where it is said 69265 came to meet an MP. Then you can find out whether they met in the lobby or not. Go and see it.
