¶ 01 Hon. Deputy Chairperson, I even forgot my point. Singing songs or reciting verses is fine. Our concern is your journey. You prayed for sixty years, and now it is fulfilled. We will support good measures—not reluctantly, but because this is our country. If the country is to rise, we will extend maximum cooperation. As Opposition MPs, we will not occupy the cursed space you once assigned. We will not incite protests and spread hatred to wreck the economy. We will call good, good, and bad, bad. We are ready to support what you pledged and beat the drums for on your platforms, if it is for the people. We have heard your speeches well.

¶ 02 Many Budgets have been presented here. I listened to many Throne Speeches in the last Parliament. None of them was impossible to accept; they sold a big dream here. But they failed to make it real, which is why the country ended up like this. If you are committed to making that dream real, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya led by the Leader of the Opposition is ready to extend full cooperation—not by strikes, leaping into the Well of the House, or disrupting proceedings.
