¶ 02 We say: do your duty without going there. I also request from the President—Hon. Deputy Chairperson, please do not allow interruptions. Hon. Member, please let me proceed.

¶ 03 In the President’s Throne Speech, I especially appreciated the section on a digital economy. He said there is a separate Ministry for Science and Technology and that scientists will be brought in, and that those with real understanding will be appointed there. But the allocation shows Rs. 1.78 billion for the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Rs. 3.78 billion for the Digital Economy. Is this the amount for the biggest change he promised—to advance science, technology, and the digital economy? Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe also spoke similarly at every Throne Speech and Budget. Setting aside the past, I pray that you will make these words a reality, and I extend best wishes to the President, the Prime Minister, all Ministers, and all MPs of the Tenth Parliament. Thank you.
