¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, we take note of the point raised by the Leader of the Opposition regarding a request by a Member of his party. Previously, when Opposition Members raised concerns about their security, upon police reports, security was provided to those who needed it. The Government does not maintain a position that security must be provided to everyone indiscriminately. The Police Department makes recommendations based on reports, and the decision is referred to the Ministry of Public Security. If now, as stated, the same police that previously reported a threat have submitted a subsequent report, we must consider that second report carefully. Therefore, we will ask the Police Department and the Minister of Public Security to look into this specifically. Where there is a threat, the Speaker can intervene to ensure security is provided.
