¶ 01 1. Under the Sri Lanka Printing Service Minute, no departmental officer possessing all required qualifications is presently available within the Department. Therefore, to ensure continuity, with effect from 2025.01.02, a senior officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (Special Grade), with extensive experience, has been appointed on a contract basis with Cabinet approval. 2. No web-based exercise related to security and confidential printing has been reduced. The Government pays special attention to maintain quality, confidentiality, and procedural integrity of printing activities. 3. As no qualified departmental officer is presently available under the Service Minute to be appointed as Government Printer, an experienced officer has been appointed to ensure continuity. Hence, a separate independent audit is not practically warranted. (Independent audits are carried out by the Auditor-General to ensure proper departmental functioning.) 4. Steps are being taken to appoint a suitable officer on a full-time basis.
