¶ 07 Today, I wish to bring to the attention of this august Assembly a matter of profound constitutional and institutional significance.

¶ 08 As you are aware, under the provisions of the Removal of Officers (Procedure) Act, No. 5 of 2002, a Committee of Inquiry was appointed to investigate and report on the grounds for the removal of the current Inspector General of Police (IGP).
