¶ 01 Mr. Speaker, on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, I table the answer.

¶ 03 (a) (i) Yes. (ii) Submitted via Annexures 01 and 02. (iii) Yes. Prior to 1995, under the Land Kachcheri programs, permits and grants under the Land Development Ordinance were issued only to low-income eligible persons. However, since Manmunai North DS Division lies within Municipal limits, after 1995 permits and grants under the Land Development Ordinance cannot be issued in that area; such lands are alienated under the State Lands Ordinance on long-term lease. (iv) Submitted via Annexures 01, 02 and 03.

¶ 04 (b) (i) Since Manmunai North DS Division lies within Municipal Council limits, alienations are done under the State Lands Ordinance as long-term leases. However, prior to 1995, under Land Kachcheri, permits and grants under the Land Development Ordinance were issued only to eligible low-income persons. (ii) Submitted via Annexures 01, 02 and 03. (iii) Because the area lies within Municipal limits, permits and grants cannot be issued under the Land Development Ordinance.
