¶ 09 Hon. Speaker,

¶ 10 Acting in terms of Section 2 of the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), I have by a Proclamation to be made with effect from 28th February 2026 declared that Part II of the said Ordinance shall come into operation throughout Sri Lanka with effect from 28th February 2026.

¶ 11 This Proclamation is made, having taken into consideration the post-disaster situation caused by Cyclone “Mitra”, with a view to safeguarding public order and maintaining essential supplies and services necessary for the life of the community, and I hereby inform Parliament accordingly, acting under Article 155(4) of the Constitution.

¶ 17 In terms of the powers vested in me by Section 12 of the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), having considered the necessity of maintaining public order, I have made an Order calling out all members of the Armed Forces mentioned in the First Schedule, to maintain public order in the areas specified in the Second Schedule.

¶ 18 Accordingly, in terms of Section 2(3) of the said Ordinance, read with Section 21(2), I hereby inform Parliament thereof.

¶ 21 Special Dialogue Organized by Caucus on Climate Parliament of Sri Lanka and WFD

¶ 22 With the “Caucus on Climate Parliament of Sri Lanka” together with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, a Special Dialogue on the theme “How the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction Matters to Parliamentarians” with the participation of Ms. Malini Mehra, Chief Executive, GLOBE International, will be held today, Tuesday, 03 March 2026, from 3.30 p.m. to 4.45 p.m. at Committee Room No. 1.

¶ 25 A meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business will be held today, Tuesday, 03 March 2026, at 11.15 a.m. in Committee Room No. 28. All Hon. Members of the Committee are requested to attend.

¶ 27 In terms of Article 154(6) of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, I lay on the Table Parts XLIV of the Second Volume and XXIX of the Ninth Volume of the Report of the Auditor-General for the financial year 2024.
