¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, the answers are as follows:

¶ 02 (a) (i) Yes. This indicator is meaningful across several dimensions. As the number of files increases, it provides data on economic progress. However, reconciliations are required—for instance, to adjust for inactive files or closures of existing establishments. Analytically, these figures reflect only the formal economy. Nevertheless, within the formal sector they are useful for understanding workers’ rights, social protection, and other functions. Sectoral analysis can show which sectors are most engaged with the economy. They also support analysis of national savings, new investments, and capital provision, as well as female labour force participation.

¶ 03 (ii) In November 2024, the number of new EPF member registrations was 6,332. The number of new ETF member registrations in that month was 2,777.

¶ 04 (iii) From January 2025, the relevant information can be provided, monthly if required.

¶ 05 (iv) It can be provided upon request at any time. Further, every six months these data, along with gender-based information on labour force participation, will be published on the Ministry website for public access and included in the annual performance report.

¶ 06 (b) Does not arise.
