¶ 01 asked the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education:

¶ 02 (a) Will she inform this House - (i) whether any form of regulation is in place regarding private tuition classes that are conducted targeting the GCE (O/L) and the GCE (A/L) Examinations; (ii) if not, the reasons for not regulating them; (iii) whether she is aware of the teachers who conduct the above-mentioned private tuition classes and their educational qualifications; (iv) if not, the reasons for not being aware of such information; (v) whether she is aware that private tuition classes are conducted at present targeting the GCE (O/L) and the GCE (A/L) Examinations from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on school days; (vi) whether appropriate action will be taken regarding conducting of tuition classes mentioned above; (vii) if not, the reasons for not taking action regarding it; and (viii) the steps that will be taken regarding the adverse impact caused to government schools due to conducting of private tuition classes as mentioned in (v) above?
