¶ 01 Question to the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education:

¶ 02 (a) (i) whether she is aware that most buildings of the Jaffna College of Technology are at risk of collapse;

¶ 03 (ii) if so, the urgent steps to renovate or construct new buildings; and

¶ 04 (iii) whether funds have been allocated this year to improve infrastructure at the Jaffna and Vavuniya Colleges of Technology;

¶ 05 (b) (i) the reasons for not incorporating hybrid or modern vehicle technologies into automotive repair courses still based on 30-year-old technology;

¶ 06 (ii) the date on which syllabi will be revised to current standards; and

¶ 07 (iii) steps taken to provide modern machinery to Colleges of Technology, including textile training centres, which lack them;

¶ 08 (c) (i) whether she is aware of a shortage of qualified lecturers in Colleges of Technology;

¶ 09 (ii) whether recruitments will be made; and

¶ 10 (iii) how equal quality of vocational training is ensured island-wide;

¶ 11 (d) If not, why?
