¶ 01 Question to the Minister of Urban Development, Construction and Housing:

¶ 02 (a) Will he state— (i) the areas to which drinking water is to be supplied from the Alawwa Water Scheme in Pothuhera, Polgahawela; (ii) the areas within the Polgahawela DS Division not covered by the scheme; (iii) whether he is aware that over 2,500 families in 13 GN Divisions within the Polgahawela DS Division, who suffer an acute scarcity of drinking water, are not covered by the scheme; (iv) the reasons for it; (v) whether the move to provide water to the above divisions according to the original plan has been changed later; and (vi) the reasons for it?

¶ 03 (b) Will he also state— (i) the objectives for which the provisions allocated from the 2025 Budget for the above scheme are spent; (ii) whether solutions will be given thereby to the problem referred to in (a)(iii); (iii) whether the scheme has been acquired to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB); (iv) if so, the measures that will be taken to supply drinking water to the above families; and (v) the reasons why the Weerambugedara DS Division is not covered?
