¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, I answer:

¶ 02 (a)(i) Yes. Name of land: Pitipana Watta, also known as Mahena Watta.

¶ 03 (a)(ii) Not applicable.

¶ 04 (a)(iii) Yes. Disposals were as follows: - To the Urban Development Authority: 124 acres, 1 rood, 17.87 perches. - To the Research and Development Centre under the Ministry of Defence: 0 acres, 1 rood, 16.85 perches. - 20 perches disposed of by sale under the Employees’ Welfare Fund.

¶ 05 (a)(iv) Disposals have been completed.

¶ 06 (a)(v) For state institutions, action has been taken under vesting procedures. For the portion disposed of under the Employees’ Welfare Fund, land was allocated under the scheme at Rs. 1,000 per perch, totalling Rs. 20,000 for 20 perches.

¶ 07 (a)(vi) No valuation has been called by the LRC.

¶ 08 (a)(vii) From the LRC’s holding, lands were provided for State development activities as stated in (iii). Additionally, 20 perches were allocated via sale under the Employees’ Welfare Fund scheme.

¶ 09 (a)(viii) Since the UDA and the Defence Ministry’s R&D Centre are State entities, reacquisition is not necessary. The 20-perch plot disposed of via the Employees’ Welfare Fund can be reacquired for a Government purpose through acquisition if required.
