¶ 02 Committee on Parliamentary Business: Nomination of Members

¶ 03 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in Standing Order 115 of the Parliament, in terms of the resolution adopted by Parliament on 06th December, 2024, I wish to inform the House that the Committee of Selection has nominated the following Members to serve on the Committee on Parliamentary Business alongside the Speaker as Chair, the Deputy Speaker, the Deputy Chairperson of Committees, the Leader of the House, the Leader of the Opposition, the Chief Government Whip and the Chief Opposition Whip:

¶ 05 Committee on Public Finance: Nomination of Members

¶ 06 In terms of Standing Order 121 of Parliament and in accordance with the resolution adopted by Parliament on 06th December, 2024, I wish to inform the House that the Committee of Selection has nominated the following Members to serve on the Committee on Public Finance:

¶ 08 Caucus on Climate Parliament: Re-establishment

¶ 09 I wish to inform the House that approval of the Committee on Parliamentary Business, held on 31st December, 2024, has been granted to re-establish the Sri Lanka Caucus on Climate Parliament for the Tenth Parliament, and accordingly, its first meeting has been scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 08th January, 2025 at 2.00 p.m. in Committee Room No. 02 of Parliament.

¶ 10 Caucus for Open Parliament Initiative: Re-establishment

¶ 11 I wish to inform the House that approval of the Committee on Parliamentary Business, held on 31st December, 2024, has been granted to re-establish the Parliamentary Caucus for Open Parliament Initiatives for the Tenth Parliament.

¶ 12 Auditor-General’s Report

¶ 13 In terms of Article 154(6) of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, I lay before the House:

¶ 14 - For the year 2021: Part LVI of Volume II and Parts 261111, XLIV and XLV of Volume IX of the Auditor-General’s Report; - For the year 2022: Parts LVII, LVI and LIX of Volume II and Part XLI of Volume IX of the Auditor-General’s Report; and - For the year 2023: Parts XXI, XXII, XXIII, XXIV, XXV and XXVI of Volume II; Parts XII, XIII and XIV of Volume III; and Parts XI, XII, XIII and XIV of Volume IX of the Auditor-General’s Report.

¶ 15 Question put, and agreed to. Ordered that the Reports be printed.

¶ 16 In terms of Section 36(1) of the National Audit Act, No. 19 of 2018, I lay before the House the Financial Statements of the National Audit Office for the year 2023 and the Report of the Independent Auditor on the audit of those Financial Statements, submitted to me by the Auditor-General, in terms of Section 36(3) of the said Act.
