¶ 01 Question to the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation:

¶ 02 (a) Will he inform this House, separately in relation to Lahugala and Pottuvil DS Divisions - (i) the number of farmers who have submitted applications under Circular No. 2008/04 from the Lahugala DS Division and, among them, the number belonging to the Pottuvil DS Division; (ii) the number of new land permits issued to those farmers; (iii) the total number of new permits issued by the Lahugala Divisional Secretariat during the last 17 years under the said Circular; (iv) the number of permits applied for under the said Circular but not yet issued; and (v) the number of permits recommended by the Eastern Province Land Title Settlement Department and forwarded to the Lahugala Divisional Secretariat but not yet issued?

¶ 03 (b) Will he also inform this House - (i) the reasons for retaining the above permits without issuing; and (ii) whether steps will be taken to issue them expeditiously to eligible persons?

¶ 04 (c) If not, why?
