But what you have shown is that since your Government took office in late 2024/2025, no investigations, arrests or legal steps have occurred on the sugar tax issue; prior actions were between 2021–2023. On bond scam, white onions, sugar, coconut oil, these were central to your campaign. The bond issue was said to be “given to relevant persons.” On white onions, Sathosa released stocks cheaply to an outside businessman who cleaned and resold at higher prices—even back to Sathosa. Coconut oil with aflatoxin was released to market. More recent parallels exist: the 50 MW wind power tender that Tender and Evaluation Boards rejected due to lack of insurance was later granted with Cabinet approval to a businessman associated with alleged money laundering by Rajapaksas and Ranil Wickremesinghe. Is that not theft? Further, on salt: your Government imported salt paying all duties, yet resale via another entity pushed retail from about Rs. 100 to Rs. 350 per kg. What was that transaction and who profited?
