¶ 01 Hon. Prime Minister, since Independence, lands and houses have been given to affected people many times. Under constitutional guarantees of equality, public resources must be shared equally; that was the basis of the Court’s decision here. But such equal sharing has not happened elsewhere. We do not blame religious leaders; rather, a party filed this case on ethnic grounds. Saudi Arabia provided these houses specifically for tsunami-affected families. When the case was filed, we do not know what the AG’s Department stated. Given the judgment, it would be appropriate to first allocate to the 308 identified tsunami-affected families, and distribute the balance according to district ethnic ratios. You came to power on a system-change platform; please provide justice to those affected by ethnicized processes. Through a Parliamentary Committee and with the AG’s assistance, take steps to secure houses for the 308 and allocate the balance by district ratios. What is your position?
