¶ 01 asked the Minister of Environment:

¶ 02 (a) Will he state— (i) the extent of land belonging to the Department of Wildlife Conservation and the Department of Forest Conservation in the Polpithigama Divisional Secretary's Division, as per Gazette Notification No. 566/5 dated 11.07.1989, separately; (ii) whether, at the time of that Gazette, lands under possession, lands with residents, and Government grant lands were included; (iii) whether such lands have been surveyed and identified; and (iv) whether the Hakwatunawa Reservoir and its reserve have been surveyed and demarcated?

¶ 03 (b) Will he also state— (i) whether roads, electricity and water have been provided to the above wildlife region even after the gazetting; (ii) the number of Government schools, Grama Niladhari offices, clinic centres and temples in the said region; (iii) the steps taken by officers of the Forest Conservation Office in Herathgama to institute action under the State Lands (Recovery of Possession) Act; and (iv) whether lands possessed/occupied by individuals will be handed over to them?
