¶ 01 Hon. Presiding Member, I have a question for the Deputy Minister of Defence. In Kalpitiya, Puttalam District, there is an Air Force training camp surrounded by farming and fishing communities. Large bombs are detonated there; pregnant women living nearby suffer repeated miscarriages after two or three months. This has gone on for years. Please investigate and visit the area; you will see. Bombs fall onto farmlands and even near fishermen’s homes, causing injuries and loss of life. I request intervention to establish a safe operating framework so daily life can continue.

¶ 02 Also, at Vanathavilluwa Police Division—Ismail Puram and Vattakandal villages—innocent people who engaged in a picket have been arrested and cases filed. Please ensure they receive justice.

¶ 03 The cyclone phase is over. Provide the pending assistance quickly and create conditions for people to resume daily life. Otherwise, people queue daily at Divisional Secretariats and GN offices hoping “today or tomorrow” to receive aid, while daily wage earners travel 40–50 km and return empty-handed. Provide time-bound assistance so they can move forward.
