¶ 01 Hon. Member, your question is clear. In fact, just a short while ago, I inquired from the Hon. Minister of Public Security. He too has already intervened and provided detailed information. I am aware of the resolution adopted at the Divisional Development Committee; we were informed of it. Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Police have undertaken precise interventions as necessary.

¶ 02 All inquiries have been conducted and matters reported to the Hon. Court. It also appears that foreigners have purchased the land—originally owned by a Muslim national—on which this operates. The Divisional Secretary’s report states that the occupants are no longer there; perhaps they have left the country. The learned Magistrate has ordered that interventions be limited to the specific stated activities—that if it is a restaurant, it should be run only as such. Further, if public disturbance arises, the Police have been directed to take stringent legal action. Therefore, we are directly intervening on this matter, as the Hon. Minister of Public Security also confirmed moments ago. We can further clarify if needed.
