¶ 01 Hon. Chairman, I will directly address transport, highways and housing matters affecting Ampara District.

¶ 02 The Kittangi Bridge on the main Ampara–Kalmunai road linking Navithanveli has remained dilapidated for long. Without rehabilitation, monsoons claim lives and cut off around 30,000 residents of Navithanveli for nearly two months annually. Please urgently rehabilitate this critical bridge; you may consult the Provincial Director (RDA) for details.

¶ 03 Under the government bridge rehabilitation programme, please include: - Manalseanai Bridge at Komari in Ampara—vital for the economy, tourism and fisheries. - Kanapathipuram–Thambinathapuram bridges including Thuravanthiyan Maettu and Chinnavaikkal bridges—essential for student transport; current disrepair keeps children away from school for months. - Vipulananda Road bridge in Valathapiddy and the bridge in front of Navithanveli Mariamman Temple—both carry heavy daily traffic.

¶ 04 At Pottuvil – Kanagar Village, 60th lane, 45 years after displacement, 76 families have received land; 126 more still await land. Those 76 require immediate housing schemes and basic infrastructure. Under the resettlement programme, please provide roads and housing to fully settle them.

¶ 05 Kalmunai condominium schemes have 938 units without title deeds for about 17 years. This includes: - Neelavanai – 1B three-storey housing, - Neelavanai – 1 “Amma Housing Scheme”, - “Karundadi Housing Scheme”.

¶ 06 Please issue condominium title and ownership deeds to all 938 households and provide sewerage systems where absent. Under NHDA schemes, Tambiluvil (30 acres, 1980) with 157 houses and Aalayadivembu/Kannagipuram with 76 houses still lack house and land deeds despite 90% having paid. Kindly issue deeds immediately. Also complete 100 houses at Aligambai and 50 at Thandiyadi initiated under the previous administration. Thank you.
