¶ 01 Thank you, Hon. Speaker and Hon. Nalin Bandara Jayamaha. My question: the amounts you stated are not accurate. In 2019 alone, our diaspora donated 31,234 pounds sterling—about Rs. 120 million—just to the Tellippalai Trail Cancer Hospital. I trained there as a Medical Administrative Officer. In the South, donations are received, warehoused, registered, and acknowledged with a registration number. In the North, this is not happening. One family alone donated 2,300 pounds to the Trail Hospital, among many others. I asked for the welfare society to be audited and a report submitted to Parliament, but you wrote asking for the hospital’s internal audit report, not the welfare society audit. Since 2015, all hospital welfare societies must be registered with the Divisional Office and as non-profit organizations with Inland Revenue, and submit audit reports to Parliament. Regarding Tellippalai Trail Cancer Hospital, I have complained to the anti-corruption committee; there has been no inquiry yet. What action has been taken?
