¶ 01 Question to the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation: (a) Will he inform this House - (i) the date on which the Kumbukkan Oya Project was commenced; (ii) whether he is aware that steps had been taken by the previous Yahapalana regime to develop the Nakkala Anicut under that project; (iii) the amount of money that had been allocated for that purpose; (iv) the number of farming families who would benefit from the development of the anicut concerned; (v) whether steps have been taken to provide alternative lands to the respective landowners for the lands submerged by the reservoir due to the development activities concerned; (vi) whether he is aware that the development activities have stalled currently; and (vii) if so, the measures that will be taken to recommence the said development activities? (b) If not, why?
