¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, thank you very much for giving me this opportunity. In the last few days, my name too has been mentioned again with reference to a list alleging illicit enrichment. I must clarify: any property I have has either come from my parents—my mother or father—or from my grandparents. I am not a person who has acquired property by illicit means through political activity. I stated this previously as well.

¶ 02 Some time ago—about a month or two ago—a list claimed I owned a petrol shed. I said in Parliament then too, if I have such a petrol shed, please find it. In our family, there was a petrol shed even before I was born. I reject these continued attempts to sling mud. This is extremely unfair. We entered politics, sacrificing our youth to work honestly for this country. If any politician has earned property illicitly, investigate and enforce the law swiftly. But please stop this despicable act of publishing lists dragging our names through the mud. Hon. Speaker, as a representative under your leadership, a grave injustice has been done to me. I request your protection. We will cooperate with any investigation. Thank you.
