¶ 01 Mr. Speaker, I am answering on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation.

¶ 02 (a) (i) Yes.

¶ 03 Name – Ajith Nuwan Samarawikrama Bandara, No. 01, Siripura, Dehiattakandiya. Basis – Permissive (concessional) basis under the State Lands Ordinance. Purpose – To construct a supermarket.

¶ 04 Name – Ceylon Unique Solutions (Pvt) Ltd., No. 723/1, Panchath, Dedigama, Thunthota, Kegalle. Basis – Permissive (concessional) basis under the State Lands Ordinance. Purpose – An agricultural equipment and seed sales outlet.

¶ 05 With respect to the above No. 1(b), although formal lease approval has been granted to Ceylon Unique Solutions (Pvt) Ltd., possession of the land has not been handed over.

¶ 06 (iii) Yes. 60 perches have been allocated.

¶ 07 (iv) D.M.P.R. Dissanayake, Siri Niwasa, Damana, Ampara. Purpose – To construct a tourist bungalow and holiday resort.

¶ 08 (v) Yes. It has been disposed of to three individuals.

¶ 09 (vi) Yatiwella Koralalage Lalith Bandara Yatiwella, No. 198, Pallegama, Siripura. Ilukgodadeniya Gedara Roshan Udaya Kumara Senaka Rajapaksha, No. 121, Weheragala, Ruhunugama. Sella Aiyya Ponnaiya Sri Kandan, No. 104, School Section, Weheragala. Basis – Permissive basis.

¶ 10 All three lots mentioned above have been disposed of on a permissive basis by the Minister.

¶ 11 (b) (i) Although the Urban Development Authority has taken steps to prepare an Urban Development Plan for Dehiattakandiya, it has not yet been published. In this area, land parcels have been lawfully allocated by the Mahaweli Authority for various needs. Accordingly, if the Government intends to use such lands for a government requirement, they can be re-vested in the State and thereafter used for development activities.

¶ 12 (ii) The commercial lands mentioned above have been granted on leasehold basis and activities can be carried out in compliance with the conditions included at the time of handing over possession in terms of the provisions of the State Lands Ordinance.

¶ 13 (iii) Not applicable, as per (ii) above.

¶ 14 (iv) In terms of the State Lands Ordinance, lands can be re-vested in the State on grounds such as non-payment of the prescribed rent by the lessee or breach of conditions.

¶ 15 (c) Not applicable.
