¶ 01 asked the Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development: (a) Is he aware that - (i) the Vantharumoolai railway station is located in the Eravur Pattu Divisional Secretary’s Division of the Batticaloa District; (ii) only the slow trains stop at that railway station while no express train does; and (iii) if express trains are scheduled to stop there, students of the Eastern University and residents of Vantharumoolai, Palachcholai, Kommanthurai, Orumulachcholai, Kaluwankeni, Mavadivembu, Sittandy and Chenkaladi would benefit? (b) If so, will he inform this House whether steps will be taken to schedule express trains to stop at the said railway station? (c) If not, why?
