¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, the answer is as follows.

¶ 02 1. In Vanni District, for lands identified as suitable forest areas to be used as grazing for those managing livestock, the District Development Committees are coordinating with the Forest Department and the Department of Wildlife Conservation, which hold title, to make allocations to the relevant farmers. 2. Upon formal release of these identified forest lands by the Forest Department and the Department of Wildlife Conservation—some are now being obtained—plans are in place to manage and maintain them as per guidelines to be issued by the relevant departments. 3. Necessary guidance and technical support for livestock managers are being provided through the Provincial Department of Animal Production and Health and the Government Veterinary Offices. 4. Unused or underutilized State lands will be allocated for suitable development through the District Development Committees as needed, including for grazing. 5. After formal release of identified areas by the Forest and Wildlife Departments, plans are in place to rehabilitate and, where necessary, establish water sources in line with departmental guidelines.
