¶ 01 Hon. Deputy Speaker, on behalf of the Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance, I present the Report of the Committee on Public Finance on the Fraudulent Foreign Debt Repayment Transaction of US Dollars 2.5 million only in the English language with special leave of the House and the Sinhala and Tamil language copies will be presented as soon as possible.

¶ 02 Ordered to lie upon the Table.

¶ 03 Sir, I just want to make one remark. There was a general wrong notion. The Public Debt Management Office took over from the 01st of January, 2026. Until such time, public debt management was under the Public Debt Department of the Central Bank. Here at the Committee, it was revealed that through the process, almost 75 per cent of the payments were made prior to 31st December, 2025. So, those fall under the time period of the Central Bank, and the subsequent two to three payments were made by the PDMO of the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. So, that correction needs to be made, that there was a dichotomy, that there were two different ends in the process of those transactions.
