¶ 01 Madam Presiding Member, please allow me a little time to conclude.

¶ 02 There is no policy on how to close down such institutions; there is no revoke policy. We are now preparing that as well. If we use the proper procedure, we can stop the conferment from institutions that exist only on paper.

¶ 03 Madam Presiding Member, there was discussion earlier about the use of “1116.” The University Grants Commission has no capacity to intervene in that. That is a matter outside their remit. The general view is that the title should be contested by a private citizen through civil means. However, regarding the proposal brought by Hon. Rohana Bandara, we are formulating a method. Even if there have been such issues historically, as this process moves forward, a proper system can be established so that titles are used in accordance with due process and misuses, as identified in this proposal, are prevented. Hon. Member, thank you for bringing this proposal, and Madam Presiding Member, thank you for granting me the time.
