¶ 04 Amendment made: “In Clause 2 of the Appropriation Bill, 2026, in sub-paragraph (a), for the words ‘Rupees Three Thousand Eight Hundred Billion’ (page 2, lines 4 and 5) substitute the words ‘Rupees Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Billion’.” [On behalf of the Minister of Finance, The Hon. (Dr.) Anil Jayantha.]

¶ 05 (The object of this Amendment is to reduce, pursuant to Item 37 of the 2026 Budget Speech, the maximum borrowing limit of the Government during 2026 from Rs. 3,800,000,000,000 to Rs. 3,740,000,000,000.)
