¶ 01 Hon. Presiding Member, thank you for four minutes. Under the National People’s Power Government, I am pleased to speak during the Committee Stage of the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources. Hon. Ramalingam Chandraseker serves as Minister and Hon. Ranna Gamage as Deputy Minister. They worked hard to change Northern Province politics. If any portfolio suits the North best, it is Fisheries, given the high proportion of fishing communities there. We wish them and their officials success in serving those in difficult areas such as Kurunagar and the islands, and Mullaitivu and Nayaru, integrating fisheries with broader livelihoods to uplift these communities.
