¶ 01 Hon. Deputy Minister, even the grant of the 39 acres you cited is procedurally wrong. Let us start there. It was not given on any proper basis—only a letter from the then Minister, not supported by any feasibility. The land is near where I reside; I know how it was given.

¶ 02 Please also look into this: the basis for granting lands has been popularity, retired military status, etc. Blocks of 50 or 100 acres, especially Suriyakanda and Hetchchatha lands—these are LRC lands—have been reserved. There is a serious issue in the Embilipitiya Walawa Region and Kolonna electorate. I request a review through the District Secretary or another authority. This situation exists from beyond Embilipitiya, from Mayurapura up to Hambantota District. In the recent past, political affiliation has been the sole criterion. If lands are now being used for non-cultivation, will you commit to a plan to re-vest them? If so, we are ready to extend support.
