¶ 01 Alright, that is all. I will not speak about the BOD.

¶ 02 I cannot comment further on this. The Hon. Minister said only legal formalities are left. Tomorrow or the day after, we will see from where the basis for awarding this pension is being stopped. Going beyond party lines, I personally support this. Speak openly to fulfill the promises you made transparently to the people of this country.

¶ 03 But each person says different things. Say the right things openly. We did not bring this Motion to play politics. There is no election now; we have no work in that sense. This is the responsibility of our Opposition. We will bring more proposals. Many of the things you said are good. We will bring all of them as Private Members’ proposals and tell one thing to the people of this country. The 6.8 million votes given in this country were not only from JVP supporters, but also from people who truly love this country and reject the traditional politics that became a sham. However, that now comes in a different form.

¶ 04 Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa was accused of enjoying privileges. But now Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake arrives by private jet. The President who came to power saying he would not travel Business Class and would sit in the back in Economy—if needed, I can play the recordings—has now chartered a private jet. No one can give an answer. When asked whose it is and from where it came, three people give three different answers. If that is the case, the ordinary people of this country, the people who love this country, the educated and intelligent generations who trusted politics, will not see those promises fulfilled.

¶ 05 If the Rajapaksas were accused, then you will be accused tenfold. We think the people of this country want a results-oriented Government that practically plants on the ground the public expectations you speak of.
