¶ 01 Mr. Speaker, thank you, Hon. Minister, for your answer. I propose that we examine proven solutions used elsewhere. Indian Railways, with the Wildlife Institute of India, successfully operates “Gajraj,” an alert system using thermal cameras and sensors. I suggest focusing attention on that. There is also the “Kavach” system. A comprehensive study is important. In our country too, near Habarana, an infrared sensor method is in operation; it is important to assess its successes and failures. In countries like Kenya, elevated railway lines and underpasses have been proposed; whether that suits us should be studied considering geography and environment. In Assam, India, honeybee sound repellents are used, leveraging bee sounds to deter elephants via sound systems. Japan has developed lights and devices emitting lion sounds. Many solutions exist. I propose an integrated, focused programme with a proper standard steering committee including your Ministry, the Wildlife Ministry, experts, state officials, and political authorities. If during this Budget Session you can set aside a Committee Room briefly to hear our proposals, I believe we can find a solution. This is not political; it needs a solution. We stand ready to contribute.
