¶ 01 We recognize the area as a tourist attraction for locals and foreigners. However, under its mandate the Irrigation Department is not tasked with creating tourism infrastructure; it can tidy and maintain what exists but not build new tourist facilities. Nevertheless, we recognize the potential of department-owned tanks and rest houses for tourism and have initiated discussions to study how these could be utilized for that purpose. I suggest taking this up at the District Coordinating Committee with the participation of department engineers to frame proposals; we stand ready to do what we can from our side.
