¶ 01 They tried to dismiss it as an accident. The then CCD Director Ranawira prepared a “B Report” saying it was an accident, on the instructions of DIG Anura Senanayake. Was that on whose orders? On the orders of DIG Anura Senanayake. Now the question is: does the President not know this? Does the President not know that Ranawira was implicated, as per the confession made by the Narahenpita Crime OIC before the Magistrate? Where is Ranawira now? He is an Advisor at the Ministry of Public Security. To use the President’s own language, is he not a shareholder of the “parallel state”? Now he holds positions in your Government. Next, the person who deleted phone data is the President’s Digital Advisor. Then how will you catch the murderers of Tissainayagam? The officers involved in declaring Thajudeen’s death an accident and filing those “B” reports now hold positions in your Government. How can you apprehend Thajudeen’s killers while keeping those implicated in office? What is this charade? Those who should be in prison are free, and those who are free should be in prison.

¶ 02 The issue of Dr. Shafi is the same. It was a highly sensitive matter. Nationalism was whipped up and Dr. Shafi was used to topple the then good governance administration. Your own Nalinda Jayatissa, the Minister, and all of us spoke against it then. We were in Government; you were in Opposition. But both of us stood together to expose the falsehood against Dr. Shafi. There was a conspiracy. Forged documents were created and a narrative was manufactured. The SSP in Kurunegala at the time, now Senior DIG Kithsiri Jayalath, along with Mahinda Dissanayake, orchestrated this conspiracy. I am not the one saying so—then-DIG CID Ravi Seneviratne together with Shani and Thissera conducted an investigation and filed a report in the Kurunegala Magistrate’s Court. I tabled that report last week. They clearly state it was a conspiracy by Mahinda Dissanayake and Kithsiri Jayalath. What did you do? As far as I know, Ravi Seneviratne is here at Parliament, in the officials’ lobby, listening. I do not know if Shani is here. You even promoted Mahinda Dissanayake, the main architect of this racist conspiracy, to DIG rank.
