¶ 01 Yes, those who should be in jail. Kithsiri is now a Senior DIG. What is the President saying then? He keeps speaking about a “parallel criminal state.” Yet you grant promotions to those who built that criminal state. On the other hand, you go to the launch of Dr. Shafi’s book; you attend and sit there. The crime was not only against Shafi; it was a crime against the entire Muslim community. Because of that, many Muslim doctors left the country. It sowed suspicion, distrust and hatred between Sinhalese and Muslims. Today you may treat it as a minor matter, but you promoted those who created and supervised that travesty. I do not know what Shani says about it. Their report names Mahinda Dissanayake and Kithsiri Jayalath as culpable. We appreciate that report filed in court by the CID in 2019. Now those officers too are within this Government, while those they deemed culpable are promoted by the Government. I do not know whether the Government listens to what Ravi Seneviratne says. I hear the IGP is not listening to him. Looking at events now, that seems evident.

¶ 02 Madam Deputy Speaker, Dr. Shafi filed a complaint on 2024.11.07—after this Government took office—seeking redress. That complaint has not yet been examined. He complained against the injustice and vilification he suffered. You still have not inquired into the complaint lodged on 2024.11.07. The rule of law, justice and ending impunity that you speak about are mere words—beautiful words repeated daily—without implementation.

¶ 03 Madam Deputy Speaker, I often speak about TID, CID and Palestine. Our friend, Colombo Municipal Councillor Arshad Nizamdeen, brought a resolution to the CMC to shut down illegal Sabbath houses in Colombo. Even the Prime Minister stated in Parliament there are illegal Sabbath houses. But when that resolution was brought, the TID summoned the Councillor and questioned why and at whose behest he brought it. They keep questioning him. Are the TID and CID now controlled by a foreign mission? When one speaks anything about Palestine, the CID or TID summons them. What shameless conduct is this? Even the United States, a staunch supporter of Israel, does not do this—not even Trump did this. On one side you say, “We stand for the freedom of Palestine,” but when anyone speaks for Palestine, you call in the Police. Stop that duplicity.

¶ 04 Madam Deputy Speaker, I must also speak about the Easter Sunday attacks. You made big promises recently, even citing dates such as 21 April. The President also said the State must investigate the State, because those within the State were involved in the Easter attacks. We already knew this; you knew it too. We all said it was a conspiracy. You said it; we said it. There was a conspiracy—a sequence of acts to topple the then Government.
