¶ 01 (a) (i) 29th June, 2017. The swimming pool was opened on 9th May, 2018. (ii) Rs. 241.314 million. (iii) It has not deteriorated. Sports activities continue. Through an MoU, the Complex is to be managed with external parties. No repairs were done last year; funds have been allocated and options are being examined. The current status is set out in the Annex; the Annex has been placed in the Library. (iv) The question itself states it is not to standard. A report from a technical officer of Sri Lanka Athletics has been requested regarding the 400‑metre track. Based on that report, we intend to proceed with further development. (v) Yes. There is ample idle land beyond the boundary wall. In consultation with the Pradeshiya Sabha, steps will be taken to make it suitable for parking.

¶ 02 (b) (i) The Sports Development Department has not entered into an agreement with Sri Lanka Cricket regarding the Kalutara District Sports Complex. (ii) We have requested the Bandaragama Pradeshiya Sabha to vest the Complex in the Sports Development Department; formal vesting has not been completed. We are working to secure concurrence. Meanwhile, maintenance of the ground and surrounding areas is being carried out by the Kalutara District Cricket Association with volunteer support, under the oversight of the Sports Grounds Committees of the Department.
