¶ 07 The Hon. I.W.M. Jagath Wickramaratne Speaker Parliament of Sri Lanka

¶ 08 Hon. Speaker, In terms of the powers vested in me by Section 12 of the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), having considered the necessity of maintaining public peace, I have issued an Order calling out all the armed forces as specified in the First Schedule, to maintain public order in the areas specified in the Second Schedule.

¶ 09 Accordingly, in terms of Section 2(3) read with Section 21(2) of the said Ordinance, I hereby inform Parliament of the same.

¶ 13 I wish to inform that the first meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business reconstituted for the Tenth Parliament will be held today, Wednesday, 08 January 2025, at 2.00 p.m., in Committee Room No. 02. All Hon. Members are kindly invited to attend.

¶ 14 I also wish to inform that the first meeting of the Committee on Standing Orders reconstituted for the Tenth Parliament, for the purpose of Open Parliamentary Initiatives, will be held today, Wednesday, 08 January 2025, at 11.30 a.m., in Committee Room No. 04. All Hon. Members are kindly invited to attend.

¶ 15 Auditor-General’s Report

¶ 16 In terms of Article 154(6) of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, I lay on the Table: - Part XXVII of Chapter IV of the Auditor-General’s Report for the financial year 2020; and - Parts XX, XXI, XXII, XXIII, XXIV, XXV, XXVI and XXVIII of Chapter I; Parts XII, XIV, XV, XVI, XVII and XIX of Chapter IV; and Parts XXIII, XXIV and XXV of Chapter VI of the Auditor-General’s Report for the financial year 2023.

¶ 17 The Hon. Bimal Rathnayake - Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation and Leader of the House of Parliament

¶ 18 I move that “these Reports be printed.”
