¶ 01 Mr. Speaker, according to the information presented by the Hon. Prime Minister, it is said that while this Committee was established, it was not legally established under the PM’s Office. Yet, cases were filed; files were opened; some of those cases are active even now. In the Anti-Corruption Committee of the 2015 Good Governance Government—the Committee read out by the Hon. Prime Minister—the name of President Anura Kumara is also there. Likewise, Mr. Ananda Wijepala’s name is there. Mr. Ananda Wijepala held a position in that Anti-Corruption Committee—the case-filing committee—of the 2015 Good Governance Government. I wish to know whether the 2015 Anti-Corruption Committee had legal status or not.

¶ 02 From what you say, it appears the Anti-Corruption Committee functioned unlawfully under the PM’s Office. I also asked about a vehicle. I cannot disclose the details to the PM now; however, a part of my Question sought an answer about a person driving a vehicle without permission and causing an accident. That has not been answered. You may table a reply later—that is fine. My first supplementary is only this. I now know who was in that 2015 Committee. Mr. Ananda Wijepala was there, and President Anura Kumara was there.
