Speaker, on behalf of the Leader of the House, I move: “Notwithstanding anything contained in Standing Order No. 88, the time of today’s Sitting shall be from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 1.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.; Standing Order 8(5) shall operate at 2.00 p.m.; and at 5.30 p.m. the Speaker shall adjourn the House.”

¶ 07 Select Committee to look into and report to Parliament on the release of 323 containers from the Port of Colombo without undergoing mandatory physical inspection and submit its proposals and recommendations in that regard

¶ 08 Hon. Speaker, on behalf of the Leader of the House, I move: “That, as the Special Select Committee of Parliament appointed to look into and report on the release of 323 containers from the Port of Colombo without undergoing mandatory physical inspection requires further time to report to Parliament in terms of the Resolution passed on 19th November 2025, the time limit granted to the said Committee under Standing Order 102 be extended till 21st July 2026.”
