¶ 01 Question to the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development:

¶ 02 (a) Will he accept that the - (i) institutional existence of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, which was established by the Monetary Law Act of 1949 and was subsequently entrusted with special functions by other Acts and amendments, has been in operation continuously under the Central Bank Act of 2023 as well; (ii) Central Bank shall accept the rights and obligations/liabilities assigned to the Monetary Board under the Monetary Law Act or any other law prior to 15.09.2023 in terms of Part XIX of the Central Bank Act; and (iii) actions, regulations or decisions taken or issued by the Monetary Board under the Monetary Law Act or any other law shall be deemed to have been taken/issued by the Central Bank?

¶ 03 (b) Will he inform this House - (i) whether the decisions and institutional policies made by the Monetary Board regarding the protection of the rights of pensioners who retired before 15.09.2023 and the fulfillment of the responsibilities related to the periodic pension revision policy will be implemented continuously by the Governing Board; and (ii) if not, steps that will be taken to cover the pensioners?
