¶ 01 Madam Deputy Chairperson of Committees, I move the following New Clause:

¶ 02 “On page 11, immediately after line 6, insert the following:

¶ 03 ‘Principal 12. In subsection (2) of section 52 of the Principal Enactment, the words “within twenty-four months,” shall be replaced by the words “within thirty-six months,” and the said section is hereby amended accordingly by such substitution.’”

¶ 04 Brought up, and read the First time.

¶ 05 Madam Deputy Chairperson of Committees, I move that “the New Clause be now read a Second time.”

¶ 06 Question put, and agreed to.

¶ 07 Question, that the New Clause be added to the Bill, put and agreed to.

¶ 08 New Clause ordered to stand part of the Bill.

¶ 09 Madam Chairperson of the Committee on Bills, I move that “the Bill, as amended, be now read a Third time.”

¶ 10 Further, I seek leave to correct any inconsistencies between the Sinhala, Tamil and English texts of the Bill, and to rectify typographical, grammatical and numbering errors and make consequential amendments.
