¶ 01 (a) (i) The list of current Members of Parliament is presented as Annex 1. I lay Annex 1 in the Library.

¶ 02 (ii) Current payments to Members of Parliament: - Monthly Allowance: Rs. 54,285 - Monthly Consolidated Allowance: Rs. 1,000 - Driver Allowance: Rs. 3,500 per month (Not payable if a driver is provided by the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs) - Telephone Allowance: Rs. 50,000 per month - Transport Allowance: Rs. 15,000 per month - Office Allowance: Rs. 100,000 per month - Sitting Allowance: Rs. 2,500 per Parliamentary sitting day - Committee Sitting Allowance: Rs. 2,500 per committee sitting day (payable on non-Parliament sitting days)

¶ 03 Fuel Allowance: - Paid monthly on the 1st day, based on the approved market price of a litre of diesel, the distance from Parliament to the Member’s electoral district, and for National List MPs a fixed 419.76 litres basis, as detailed in Annex II (laid in the Library).

¶ 04 (iii) Pursuant to written notification dated 20.08.2025 from Hon. Nayana Wasalathilake, MP, who forgoes salary and allowances, payment of salary and allowances has been stopped for him from August 2025.

¶ 05 Further, as per Annex III (laid in the Library), the following have notified in writing that they do not draw the Parliamentary fuel allowance: Hon. Speaker; Hon. Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees; Hon. Deputy Chairperson of Committees; Prime Minister; Ministers; State Ministers; Leader of the Opposition; Chief Government Whip; Deputy Chief Opposition Whips; and several Deputy Ministers/State Ministers and office-bearers listed therein. Accordingly, Parliament does not pay fuel allowance to them.
