¶ 01 Hon. Speaker, my second supplementary question is this. Some administrators in the past used this institution to enhance their personal image, and misused youths’ rights. We saw this manifest during the recent reactivation of youth societies.

¶ 02 In my district of Matara, in Deniyaya electorate, in the Kotapola DS Division, I must mention an unnecessary building project. During the time Mr. Sagala Ratnayaka, a close associate of Ranil Wickremesinghe, held responsibility, a large number of unnecessary large-scale buildings were constructed through the Youth Services Council. One example: in Diyadawa village in Kotapola DS Division, on very valuable land, hundreds of millions were spent, wasted, and a building was started and then abandoned. There is no use of the land or the building, and no benefit from the money spent for youth. I ask the Deputy Minister: what steps will your Ministry take regarding such unnecessarily commenced and abandoned buildings across the country?
