¶ 02 Special Security Arrangements on 08th May, 2026

¶ 03 Hon. Members, in view of the Address to Parliament by His Excellency To Lam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and General Secretary of the Communist Party, on Friday, 08th May, 2026, the following special security arrangements will be implemented:

¶ 04 Thursday, 07th May, 2026 - The entire Parliament Complex, including Members’ lounges and lockers, will be subject to security screening.

¶ 05 Friday, 08th May, 2026 - Identified high-security/restricted zones within the Parliament building will be subject to security screening. - The Public Gallery will be restricted to invited guests only. Invitation cards for guests will be issued by Parliament. - Hon. Members are kindly requested to arrive, as far as possible, with a driver, and to refrain from bringing guests in their vehicles. - For Hon. Members who drive themselves, drivers from the Parliamentary staff pool will be assigned at the Members’, Staff and Public Entrances to park vehicles in designated car parks. - Since the Public Gallery is limited to invited guests, if an Hon. Member is accompanied by an invited guest, please establish identity with the invitation card to the Police Officers on duty at the Jayanthipura Entrance for escorted access to the Public Entrance. - During His Excellency the President of Vietnam’s Address to Parliament, the Chief of Protocol of Vietnam will also be present in the Chamber. - A cameraman from Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation will enter the Chamber with a camera to cover proceedings. - Parliamentary car parks will be closed on that day; Members’ vehicles will be directed to designated alternative car parks. - The Traffic Police and nearby Police Stations will implement a special traffic plan.
