¶ 01 asked the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports: (a) Will he inform this House - (i) the names of the Sports Officers serving in the 20 Divisional Secretaries’ Divisions of the Ampara District, separately by each Divisional Secretary's Division; (ii) whether he is aware that there are 13 vacancies in the post of Sports Officer in the said district for a long time; and (iii) the steps that have been taken to fill the vacancies referred to above? (b) Will he also inform this House - (i) whether he is aware that despite the fact that a District Youth Service Officer (Sinhala) and a District Youth Service Officer (Tamil) had been appointed, respectively, for the areas where the Sinhalese population is predominant and for areas where Tamil population is predominant from Dehiattakandiya to Panama in the Ampara District, there is presently no District Youth Service Officer (Tamil); and (ii) if so, whether a District Youth Service Officer (Tamil) will be appointed for those areas? (c) If not, why?
